LIGHT & VALUE GREY SCALES

8 March 2017 // black and white acrylic paint grey scale. It first I thought this would be quite a simple task but as it can be seen, I found this really challenging. In my first try my 50% was too dark and thus put out a lot of my scale as a based the rest of my scale on this colour. My second try didn't go a lot better as I forgot to allow for the colours drying darker than they look when they are freshly mixed. Therefore there isn't a significant improvement in my second scale and I even managed to reverse two of the percentages. Hopefully though if I ever do a third one it will look a lot better!

15 March 2017 // collaged black and white grey scale from print-out materials. This task was fun but tricky! By the end my eyes were getting a bit tired and I made some mistakes with matching the colour in the lighter areas.
