GEOMETRIC SHAPES

Today in class we made some 3D paper shapes. I actually loved doing this - it felt like I was getting back to my youth which is always good :) My first two the orange pentagonal sphere-y one and the green gem shape, were a bit tough as I had to remember how to have light fingers and try not to force everything into place! The next two were a lot easier and I really enjoyed these.

Our next task was a still life which was tough. I usually sketch from photos or images which Greg explained is a lot easier because the colours are flat. I really struggled to gauge the angles and different tones in the shadows of the shapes so there was a fair bit of erasing to do!
