PHOTO RELEASE PRINT

Today we started our duo-tone composition as well as completing our photo release print as the printers were working again!

I had used a printing press once before but I had been printing from an etching plate rather than from a piece of paper so it was a really cool experience! We started by lying our photocopies face down on a sheet of printing paper. We then covered the photocopy with a solvent that loosened up image and then we ran it through the press! This one worked pretty well but the print I did by rubbing method wasn't as effective. I was too slow applying the solvent and this meant that the image had already started to dry by the time I began trying to transfer it so it was quite weak and a bit patchy!
